Volunteer
Pendragon prides itself on being a volunteer-based organisation. Our volunteers are our greatest strength. Bringing their enthusiasm, experiences and expertise, they contribute to the rebuilding of Britain’s strongholds in a variety of exciting and fulfilling roles. It is by their dedication that we have been able to develop a dynamic and effective team that can seize the opportunities afforded by Britain’s heritage and culture in stone.
We really value the contributions made by our volunteers. We want to see them grow and flourish as highly skilled individuals who contribute to their communities. Identifying their qualities and passions, we work hard to place members in roles and teams that will see them thrive. Within that framework we encourage creative initiative. We want our volunteers to take on responsibility, to embrace the challenges that lie ahead and to excel in their efforts. We are invested in the futures of our members.
It's about organisation too. We’re forging talented individuals into a team of who share a coherent vision. Together, we’re capable rebuilding Britain’s castles and making them into places of culture, commerce and community. As such, we’re combining strong leadership, structural flexibility and collaborative practices to coordinate our volunteers into an effective agent of change in 21st century Britain.

We welcome anyone who wants to contribute to the Pendragon Foundation. There are several ways you can get involved with our work. The main areas are:
- Rebuilding: with the supervision of industry experts, volunteers participate in the restoration process by taking part in construction work. Supercharging our efforts to reestablish these magnificent and historic buildings, they can develop their own craftsmanship on these unique projects.
- Research: all we do is grounded in evidence-based decision making. Our researchers provide the detailed information and assessments we need to make the right decisions for achieving our goals.
- Finance: overseeing our accounts and crowdfunding campaigns, the finance team ensure that our operation is economically sound and transparent. They are a critical part of ensuring that we are a trustworthy and reliable charity.
- Media: through social media and video production, we promote our work and share the history of castles and their attendant cultures. The media team produce and implement innovative approaches to education about our work and Britain’s heritage.
- Events: our event crew volunteers contribute to the running of medium-to-large scale events. Whether a banquet dinner or medieval festival, they give their time to ensure that we can run high quality activities in a safe and effective way.
- Engagement: at the forefront of our charity, our engagement team facilitate educational trips, hands on experiences and social activities for our volunteers. They help those who want to get involved find their place within our mission to rebuild Britain’s strongholds.
